HISTORY

When their world was attacked by the power mad Green Lantern Ayria, the people of Aegri Somnia Three rose in defense. The armies of Ayria were too much for them, and an underground resistance had to be formed. As part of this resistance, Selaya was assigned to get in close with Ayria and steal his power ring.

The resistance knew Ayria found the yellow skinned women of AS3 desirable, and Selaya matched his tastes perfectly. While the Green Lantern slept, Selaya removed the ring from his finger and swallowed it.

When Ayria woke, he had Selaya tortured for the location of the ring. She had been well prepared for this. Instead of admitting she took the ring, she implicated a number of Ayria's generals. Ayria had his generals tortured and they in turn implicated others in the vain hope of escaping their eventual fate.

Selaya was cast out with the others of Aegri Somnia Three. She was reunited with her husband Illiya moments before they were both gunned down by camp guards.

Ayria never gave up searching for the ring. He and the power battery were carried around the piles of dead, surveying his handiwork. Unknown to Ayria, the power ring was quite near.

Passed by Selaya's body, the battery flared to life. The last urges of Selaya's willpower ignited the power ring. Now fully charged, the ring and Selaya's willpower somehow interacted with the wills of others that had died to fuel the lantern. They rose from the dead, attacking their former captors. Aryia was dragged down by the sheer numbers of the vengeful dead.

Finally free, Selaya and the other victims of Aegri Somnia Three could rest in peace.

    'mouse note-

This isn't the first story that dealt with the ring being used by the dead. Driq and Tylot also fit into this catagory. The curious part is how the wills of others can boost the power of the lantern, which was also seen in the story of Lysandra, another GL.

Selaya was not a member of the Green Lantern Corps. It would be interesting to see if she would have been chosen had Ayria died in the invasion of AS3.
