HISTORY
The Quintessence is a coalition of five cosmic and/or supernatural beings who irregularly gather to oversee events of a cosmic magnitude - for example: the arrival of Lkz on Earth, Asmodel's Day of Judgment, and the creation of the new Spectre. Members are: the ancient wizard Shazam; Zeus; king of the Olympian Gods; Highfather, the now-deceased but present-in-spirit ruler of New Genesis; Kontross, later Ganthet, one-time last of the Guardians of the Universe; and the nameless presence known as the Phantom Stranger. Usually, the Quintessence observes without interferring.
In another hypertimeline, the Quintessence was responsible for the creation of Gog, the villain who killed several versions of Superman.
