Synopsis:

When Superman and Green Lantern have a dispute over handling a danger in Earth's upper atmosphere, a Guardian of the Universe appears with a challenge to settle any future disagreements. Doctor Fate is chosen as the contest supervisor.
The two heroes are to travel through an ectoplasmic tunnel where they will each face what they fear most. Then once through, simply grasp an enchanted purple dragon.
Green Lantern faces a gigantic yellow spider, which puzzles him as he had never been afraid of spiders. He realizes he is only depending on his ring and once he relies solely on himself is he able to break free. Superman faces a giant manifestation of his father Jor-El. He realizes it is his imagination fearing he does not live up to Jor-El's expectations.
The heroes reach the dragon, soon realizing there is more than meets the eye. The dragon appears to have a purpose, and that purpose is to attack the JLA satellite. Working together, Superman and Green Lantern are able to defeat the dragon and deduce "Doctor Fate" was a fraud, and is none other than JLA villain Felix Faust who they quickly apprehend.
