HISTORY
One night in the woods, Jessica Cruz and some friends crossed paths with two unidentified men burying a body for their employer. The pair gunned down the witnesses and left the for dead. Jessica however had survived and escaped. The traumatic event triggered severe anxiety in Cruz who became a recluse, confining herself in her apartment for three to four years.
It was her fear that attracted the Ring of Volthoom, an emerald ring from parallel universe of Earth 3. The previous host Hal Jordan of Earth 3 had been killed and Cruz would be Volthoom's instrument of destruction as it forced itself on her. -Justice League Vol. 2 #31
As the new Power Ring, Jessica Cruz quickly caught the attention of others wishing to control her, such as Niles Caulder of the Doom Patrol and Lex Luthor. It was with the support of Batman that Cruz was able to gain control of Volthoom and she joined the Justice League.
POWERS AND WEAPONS
As a Green Lantern, Jessica Cruz possesses a power ring and power battery, though the battery is shared with her partner Lantern Simon Baz. The ring has multiple functions, allowing the wearer the abilities of flight, travel through space and other hostile environments, communication and translation and the creation of hard light constructs.
Previously as Power Ring, Jessica Cruz could (depending on the control of Volthoom) create hard light constructs and has the ability to fly. The full range of powers had not been explored.
